Diarrhoea

If your baby’s stool suddenly becomes less formed, more watery and more frequent than what is normal for her, she might have diarrhoea. Diarrhoea can be caused by an infection.

When should you be concerned about diarrhoea?

If the frequency and volume of diarrhoea become excessive, or if you notice any of the following symptoms, call your pediatrician or health care professional:

  1. Blood or mucus in stools
  2. Fever
  3. Vomiting
  4. Irritability
  5. Refusal to eat
  6. Decreased or dark-coloured urine
  7. Decreased activity
  8. Diarrhoea could also be a sign that your baby might need another formula option.

Your baby may be going through a phase where digesting lactose is more difficult

The symptoms of lactose Intolerance include:

  1. Gas
  2. Cramping
  3. Bloating
  4. Diarrhoea
